Assigning Permission:
All permissions are assigned when creating and/or editing content. After you have clicked on the "next>>" button in the Input mask, a group overview is opened, where you can specify the permissions. Here a pre-selection is offered to you, which you can accept directly, but you are not required to.
The preselection offered for the permissions is determined by your pAdmin.
General permissions
| read | Read-permitted groups can just read the corresponding fact, but they cannot edit or hide/delete it. |
| modify | The modify-permitted groups can create, edit and hide/delete the fact. |
Additional permissions in Forum:
A Forum has three levels: Forum Topics Postings. You have the possibility to limit the modification permissions for the second and/or third level.
| create topic | These groups can write only topics (2nd layer) and postings (3rd layer). |
| post | These groups can write only postings to the topics (3rd layer)
|
Additional permissions for folders:
| work | These groups can create facts and shortcuts in the folder, but they cannot modify the folder itself. |
Why permissions?
A well-thought permission system enables platform administrators and users to accurately control who is allowed to read or modify which information.
The hierarchy: For each factline Community Server (the server, where the your platforms run) there is a System administrator (sAdmin), one or more Platform administrators (pAdmin) and on or more user with modify permissions (user).
sAdmin = factline If factline acts as the application service
provider (ASP), the system runs on a server powered by factline. In this case, factline takes over the
tasks of the sAdmin.
The sAdmin defines for each platform a group of platform administrators, who on the other hand specify which groups of users have access to the particular services. Users in their turn can set read and modify permissions for information created by them.
