For each service on your platform the platform administrator(s) must
specify the access permissions ("access-read"). Depending on the
different services, additional permissions need to be considered. In
the content services for example is the access-write permission very
important!
The p-Admin has to assign access-write permissions to user groups,
otherwise users will not be able to create content. In addition the
standard permissions need to be considered. They serve as a
suggestion during the publishing process.
In order to assign Service permissions, proceed as follows:
|1| Choose "Services" from the main menu by clicking on it.
|2| In the following list of services, click on the perm button of the desired service.
|3| In the table on the next page, all your groups are displayed as
rows, and the columns represent the possible permission settings. For
each service, you have to set "access" and "standard" permissions. The
following checkboxes are available:
"acces + read" |
Defines whether a group has access to a service from the header. [Only important for platforms with a standard header.] |
"acces + write" |
Defines whether a group is allowed to create facts of this specific service. |
"standard + read" |
As pAdmin you suggest to users this group to be "read" permitted for a fact of this service. |
"standard + modify" |
As pAdmin you suggest to users this group to be "modify" permitted for a fact of this service. |
standard permissions in structure: If you create a fact in structure, the permissions of the folder are suggested as permissions for the fact.
|4| Click on the set permissions button, to save your selection.
Example: For a better understanding, read through the following example for the service "image".
Alternate permission tables
Some services have extended or reduced permission tables. For details see:
Structure -- Differing permission options for "factchat" -- Userprofile -- Notification -- Users Online -- facttext
