factline is responsible for the areas Content Relationship Management
and Content Licensing for all German-speaking countries (Germany,
Austria, Switzerland), for Central and Eastern Europe (including Greece
and Turkey), for Russia as well as for countries of the former Soviet
Union (a total of 24 countries).
initial situation:
Factiva, a Reuters/Dow Jones joint-venture, offers high-quality global
news, business information via Internet and Intranet. factline acts as
an organisational agent between Factiva and the various content
providers.
tasks:
negotiation of contract alterations with existing data suppliers
planning, closing of contracts with new data suppliers
contact for contract partners and Factiva
project: The
cooperation started in January 2000. During the first six months, a
special focus was put on the alteration of existing content supply
contracts of Reuters. This step was completed in July 2000 with 90 % of
all data suppliers. Moreover, new Factiva contracts were closed. At the
same time, the task included finding a solution to data delivery
problems. In this area, factline works closely with the technical
department of Factiva. In January 2002, the focus shifted to contract
negotiations with new data suppliers. Moreover, factline's function as
a link between Factiva and the various content providers gained
importance.
